Louise Kulbicki, LLB, LLM, is a British legal English trainer and the founder of Study Legal English, a leading platform offering audio, video and online training resources in legal English for lawyers and law students around the world. She has worked with Linguaid since 2021, preparing candidates for the CAJA certification and contributing to the development of innovative teaching content.
With a Bachelor of Laws (First Class, London Metropolitan University) and a Master of Laws from University College London (UCL), Louise began her career in international environmental law. She is a registered TOLES trainer and examiner and has served on the board of the European Legal English Teachers’ Association (EULETA). Her early career took her to the 2012 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, a decisive experience that turned her towards teaching and creating legal English resources.
Since 2013 she has taught legal professionals and students worldwide, face to face and online. Her courses cover contract drafting, TOLES preparation, legal correspondence, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.
Louise is also the co-author, with Natasha Costello, of Practical English Language Skills for Lawyers, a comprehensive coursebook designed to strengthen lawyers’ language and drafting skills in an international context.
Based in Lecco, Italy, Louise continues to develop Study Legal English and to produce podcasts that help lawyers everywhere progress at their own pace. An active member of the legal English teaching community, she has served on the EULETA board with responsibility for social media, technology and communication, and is affiliated to the International Division of the Law Society of England and Wales.
Passionate, curious and deeply committed to her learners’ progress, Louise combines legal expertise with creative teaching to make legal English accessible, lively and directly applicable to professional practice.
