Lynsey Redfern

Lynsey is a British solicitor-linguist who has lived in France since 2002. She joined Linguaid to share her linguistic and legal expertise with French lawyers and in-house counsel who want to perfect their legal English.
With a Bachelor of Science in French, First Class (Aston University, Birmingham), then a Postgraduate Diploma in Law with distinction (College of Law, London), Lynsey was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and practised at the international firm Dentons in London. She is on the roll of the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a non-practising solicitor.
In France she obtained the CAPES teaching qualification and is now head of legal English at the Faculty of Law of Université Côte d’Azur in Nice, where she designs and delivers specialist teaching programmes.
A member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting in the UK, Lynsey is also a sworn interpreter-translator before the Tribunal Judiciaire of Grasse and the Tribunal Administratif of Nice. She works regularly with the police and gendarmerie on criminal and civil cases, translating legal documents and interpreting at hearings.
